It’s been a while since we’ve seen or heard from our fave Swede, since last April at Coachella to be exact; and in our books that’s much too long to go without a peep (or in her case make it a wail and a booty shake)from our most inspiring girl crush Lykke Li. However, as many are clamoring, gushing, ooing and aweing at the premiere of New Moon, it’s not the movie that’s getting us all riled up (although Amy is a closet fan), but the soundtrack. Yep, our girl Li has indeed come out with a new ballad. We’re hoping Lykke Li will grace us with her presence at Coachella again this year, or make an appearance in SF soon, but until then we’ll just have to take this in, soak it up, and put it on repeat…”…actually listen to it when you get a chance.. Lay down on a bed and just listen my love.
Love is a serious matter when it’s real. It’s blood and it’s death. But it’s also life, ain’t no other way around it.”-Lykke LiThen…

I actually haven't seen these movies or read the books or anything, but, well, If you two endorse it I probably should. Do you? I think I can trust you because this song, well, this artist, I have never heard of. It is very haunting and beautiful and interesting and lovely. Hmm.

http://www.lykkeli.com/promo – new Lykke Li cover for you to enjoy. Why refuse when you want to? It's okay to be a label.? We would quibble, I know this for sure, but you have labeled yourselves from the very beginning. A label, yes…However, you lack the one element other labels implicitly possess – without question or hesitation and postured with righteousness they stick themselves ON something they feel symbolizes who they are – they become fixed on a permanence that doesn't exist, attached to something OUTSIDE THEMSELVES – they are the sticky, gluey, frail layer of motives that would cling to your soul if it had a surface…A&A…You are the freedom of a ragged piece of petrified wood floating on an ocean. ragged wood to some, Ragged Wood to others. If I was wood I would hope you were forever in my forest. If I was a forest I would hope my fallen trunks would become petrified wood – Free from sticky glue on their labels. Without glue, I am stuck on you.

In response to the lovely Second Skin: By no means are we “endorsing” these movies, I (Alex), have actually never seen them either…to each their own, millions of people seem to be enthralled. It's just that the big studio, commercial movies tend not to be our thing. We do, however, fully encourage you to give Lykke Li a listen. This song, although beautiful, does not show Lykke Li's full range…the girl can make you dance just as easily as she motivates you to want to sit in the window on a rainy day with a cup of tea and contemplate the “possibilities.”To Michael: Your words, spoken from the soul, have touched ours. Beyond beautiful.
